The Suzhou Center Plaza project is located on the west side of Jinji Lake in Suzhou Industrial Park, adjacent to the Gate to the Orient. It comprises 10 buildings, including one 500-meter and one 450-meter super high-rise, seven 100-200-meter high-rise towers, and one large commercial building, with a total investment of approximately 28.5 billion yuan.
Suzhou Center Plaza occupies a prime location in Suzhou's CBD, with Metro Lines 1 and 3 running through the entire project area. The project covers a total area of 21.1 hectares, with a net land area of 13.9 hectares and a total construction area of approximately 1.82 million square meters, including 1.3 million square meters above ground and 520,000 square meters underground.
The Suzhou Center Plaza project is being developed and constructed by Suzhou Industrial Park Jinji Lake Urban Development Co., Ltd. According to company staff, Suzhou Center Plaza has achieved six "firsts" in Chinese architecture due to its unprecedented scale: With a total area of 1.82 million square meters, it is the largest integrated urban complex in China; its underground space covers approximately 520,000 square meters, making it the largest integrated underground space in China; within Suzhou Center Plaza is the largest single-building shopping mall in China, developed jointly by Suzhou Industrial Park Jinji Lake Urban Development Co., Ltd. and CapitaLand Commercial Properties Ltd. of Singapore, with a total construction area of over 400,000 square meters; the project will include a 50,000-square-meter rooftop garden, the largest rooftop ecological garden in China; Suzhou Center Plaza features a centralized cooling and heating system, the largest centralized cooling and heating system for an urban complex in China; furthermore, the project has three underground levels overall and four underground levels in some areas, with a foundation pit covering an area of 140,000 square meters, an excavation depth of 17 to 22 meters, and an excavation volume of approximately 2.2 million cubic meters, making it the largest urban building foundation pit project in China.
