Black Iron Pipe Fittings Industry Embraces Development Opportunities: High-Endization and Export as Dual Growth Engines

Recently, the global Black Iron Pipe Fittings industry has shown a significant growth trend. Policy drivers and the upgrading of market demand have jointly promoted the industry's transformation towards high-endization and greenization. Data shows that the scale of China's relevant market reached 18.64 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 19.3%. Among them, black iron pipe fittings, as a core category, have continued to expand their market share benefiting from infrastructure renewal and the improvement of industrial safety standards.

On the policy front, many countries have strengthened infrastructure construction plans. China's "Implementation Plan for the Renovation of Aging Urban Gas Pipelines and Other Facilities" clearly requires the completion of the renovation of 100,000 kilometers of aging pipelines by 2025, driving a surge in demand for black iron pipe fittings with long-term anti-corrosion performance. At the same time, the tightening of environmental policies has accelerated industry reshuffling. New surface treatment technologies such as zinc-aluminum coating and dacromet have gradually replaced traditional hot-dip galvanizing, with the market share of related products reaching 67.4%, forcing enterprises to upgrade their production technologies.

Technological upgrading and product high-endization have become the core competitiveness of the industry. The proportion of ductile iron base material jumped from 54.7% in 2021 to 81.2% in 2025. High-end products focus on main gas pipelines and overseas high-standard projects, which need to meet strict requirements such as a carbon footprint of ≤ 1.1 tons of CO₂e/ton. Leading enterprises have built advantages through the whole-cycle service of "product + engineering + operation and maintenance", with a market share of over 60% in the high-end market.

The export market has become a new bright spot for growth. In 2025, China's export volume of black iron pipe fittings and related products reached 142,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.4%, mainly flowing to the co-building countries of the "Belt and Road" initiative. High-performance products accounted for 73.6% of the total export volume. The international market has a strong demand for standardized products, and black iron pipe fittings that meet international standards such as EN10242 and ASME B16.3 are more favored.
